Most residence and home owners have concerns about someone breaking into their home?
Home security is an issue we all face. If you’re a homeowner, then you probably have a lot invested in your home–both emotionally and financially. That’s why it’s so important to keep it safe from burglars and intruders.
These tips ans suggestions should be followed to help keep your home and residence safe.
Don’t leave your porch lights on 24/7. Burglars will notice this and think you are away from home.
Hide valuables in plain sight. Thieves know to look for the most expensive items in the house first, like jewelry and cash. So don’t make them easy targets. Hide them in plain sight, by putting them in an envelope or box and leaving them out on a bookshelf, closet or desk. You could even put a dollar bill inside to make it look less valuable.
Many people think home security is something you can pay for, and that's it. As long as you have a security system, you're safe.
But that's not true.
Home alarms are a very effective deterrent against burglaries, but they aren't foolproof. Sometimes, a would-be burglar ignores the alarm and enters the home anyway.
If you really want to protect your home and your family, you need to make your home more difficult to break into than other homes in your neighborhood.
If you live in a high crime area, or if you don't want to spend too much money on home security, then I recommend the following simple steps:
Put deadbolt locks on every door in your house; get at least one with a keypad so that you can turn it off when someone is inside.
